I can honestly tell you that I almost deleted your blog from my roll when it hit 1 year, then methought, "What if Natalie posts Nd I miss something awesome?" see? I was right.
Now, my friend, listen here. Aside from three years living in Chicago (Barack his majesty was actually teaching at the Unuversity of Chicago while Brad was there), I have lived a pretty sheltered life. You bring new life to this tired debate. Still don't know how to vote because I feel like they're all lying to me on some level.
Listen to me. Please return to blogging. We miss you.

And in case you haven't heard it enough, well said. Don't completely agree, but I know that's not what you're after--a group of blind followers you can call your cabinet. One of the big thing...Glad to see you back on here!
One of the big things I'm really struggling with is my naivety when it comes to people not voting for someone because of his religion. I thought once we'd elected a black president that we as a nation had proven that we'd "grown up" a bit and were not basing elections on race.
But that big elephant in the room has me so disillusioned now I find there is no hope for any religion or race. And I know a little something about feeling like a minority now.
Good job Nat! I think it's inspiring to hear the valiant and strong opinions of the women I have encountered in my life, even if I think more on the other side of the isle. Thank you for sharing your opinions. I get a bit apprehensive about sharing my own opinions, because believe-you-me, being a Democratic Mormon, can be nutty inofitself. The media does a great disservice by projecting the country with extreme polars. I've come to find that in personal discussions with friends, there are things we can agree on: we are all concern about our country, our families, and our right's as individuals. Some wonderful ideas come out of these discussions. You have made me reevaluate our current president's policies. I can not learn by "tunnel vision" alone. Thanks, Natalie :)KEKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04993900128628904845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3366315366123515090.post-62147095368709896952012-02-10T00:13:19.691-05:002012-02-10T00:13:19.691-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.KEKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04993900128628904845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3366315366123515090.post-3287258618214396922012-02-09T23:36:47.845-05:002012-02-09T23:36:47.845-05:00Natalie, I love the way you use your constitutiona...Natalie, I love the way you use your constitutional right of free speech! I have you on my Google REader--and yo...True story. I have you on my Google REader--and you have been absent for forever, so I never come over to your blog to check because it will pop up if you do. But I sat down for two seconds and DID NOT go to my google reader, I opened up my browser and thought--I'm going to check her blog link--and here you are. Is that Kizmet or what? (sidenote--that is my daughter's name). Maybe we are soul sisters or something. I was pretty impressed with that.

Anyhoodles. Missed you. Loved all of it. Could have been my words. And lately I have been thinking about that article of faith alot--in fact when I starting reading your rant I thought of it--and then you quoted it. Seriously--do you emit signals to my brain? Curious.

I am on the other end of Romney here--I see the people supporting him with sign and such, and haven't noticed the backlash. I could only imagine what you are getting there. In fact I said outloud--"Could you imagine being in Georgia?" and my husband said "yes" and then I remembered he went to the University of Georgia. That is nutsball. May the force be with you on that.

whiny asses--that made me laugh

anyhow, missed you. Glad to see you are alive and still snarky. think about you and your hubby often. Hope he has adjusted well.

also, I dare you to punch the principal in the face. I wanted to do that to my daughters principal. I didn't, but I want someone to somewhere. On behalf of all frustrated mothers.

also. You are strong and you are courageous. You are everything any mother could ever want her daughter to be. Period. I wonder if I how I feel is somewhat like Joan of Arc's mother, or Esther's mother, or Rosa Park's mother, or maybe even a teeny tiny little bit (on a comparative "earthly" scale) how Mary felt about her Son. I just know you were born to make a difference in this world and you do without fear.

I don't know...I just know how I feel. Grateful, proud, humbled, inspired, peaceful and protective, all at once. I just know I am so glad you are you...always. I am so thankful I never have to worry about you being "blown" with the winds in this world. A voice of reason in a world of chaos. How does someone so tiny make such a big roar in this life???

In some selfish way you make me know God must have loved and trusted me to have allowed me to hold in my arms and raise one of His most valiant Spirits.

And besides, "lead balloons" are not filled with hot air that, when emptied, their contents just aimlessly float away and no one pays attention. I am so glad you are a "lead balloon" in this world... a world where there are plenty filled with aimless, pointless, hot air.

I love you..SnarkyMamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15871996802234189153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3366315366123515090.post-82621038247165367212012-02-09T16:02:18.456-05:002012-02-09T16:02:18.456-05:00Glad to see you back, and I want to let you know t...Glad to see you back, and I want to let you know that I've got your back.

(Which is not difficult, considering that we have many areas of agreement here...)

;)Susan Andersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16049586085703324088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3366315366123515090.post-80407791846995524592012-02-09T15:49:48.956-05:002012-02-09T15:49:48.956-05:00Well done & perfectly stated! Each and every ...Well done & perfectly stated! Each and every point you made had an exclamation point added onto it by me. I've tried to be upfront and vocal about any questions anyone around me might have about our church/beliefs (I have - really! You would be so proud of me!!) but it's hard to keep explaining away the same stupid beliefs people have. I was encouraged last night to see a clip of Romney explaining to people that we are called to serve in different areas of our church and that he himself had served some time as a "pastor" in his area of the church. I think his point was that he understands the human condition and the many many problems people have from serving in his calling. I'm hoping he'll feel more free to talk about it, because by avoiding it, the subject just gains a weird vibe.
Didn't realize you were blogging again - so glad to be reading your enthusiastic opinions again.
